Tuesday, February 11, 2020
BOSTON – Nathaniel Roberts has joined Ed Markey’s Senate re-election campaign as a Field Organizer. Prior to joining Team Markey, Nathaniel was a Field Organizer with the Iowa Democratic Party and a Hub Coordinator for the Sunrise Movement chapter at UMass Dartmouth.
Nathaniel is the Field Organizer for Acushnet, Berkley, Bridgewater, Dartmouth, Dighton, Fairhaven, Fall River, Freetown, Lakeville, Marion, Mattapoisett, Middleborough, New Bedford, Raynham, Rehoboth, Rochester, Seekonk, Somerset, Swansea, Taunton, and Westport.
“Nathaniel is a dedicated activist with a passion for environmental organizing and democratic action,” said Campaign Manager John Walsh. “As an undergraduate, he joined the Sunrise Movement and mobilized his university to commit to a goal of zero carbon emissions. His accomplishments and energy demonstrate his commitment to mobilize a diverse and robust grassroots movement. We are excited to welcome Nathaniel onto Team Markey.”
“Growing up in a lower-middle-class family in a post-industrial city, I have always been acutely aware of wealth inequality. Senator Markey, a Malden working-class progressive, represents both my story and my priorities. He has always been a leader for middle and working-class families in the Commonwealth and has consistently delivered on the issues that matter most to our communities. I am eager to join Team Markey as we build a movement to fight for economic and climate justice,” said Roberts.
Nathaniel is a Fall River native. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Sustainability from UMass Dartmouth.
