Tuesday, February 11, 2020
BOSTON – Ben Rutberg has joined Ed Markey’s campaign for re-election to the United States Senate as a Field Organizer. Prior to joining the Markey campaign, Ben worked in the public health sector with the Cambridge Public Health Department, Massachusetts Department of Mental Health, and Somerville Cares About Prevention. She was also an organizer for the Yes on 3 campaign in 2018.
Ben is organizing in Acton, Arlington, Belmont, Boxborough, Carlisle, Concord, Lexington, Lincoln, Littleton, Waltham, Watertown, Weston and Winchester.
“Ben has demonstrated to be fully committed to building a people-powered movement to re-elect Senator Markey,” said Campaign Manager John Walsh. “Ben’s experience canvassing and organizing will be invaluable for our Field Team. She also cares deeply about health issues and will surely be fantastic at informing voters on Senator Markey’s work in that field.”
“I am excited to be working with a campaign that sees healthcare as a basic human right,” said Rutberg. “Ed Markey has led on public health issues, including women’s reproductive rights and Alzheimer’s, and we need a senator that recognizes the work that has yet to be done to fully achieve healthcare equality in America. Ed Markey is that senator and will continue working over the next six years to help our country achieve this goal. I am ecstatic to be contributing to this grassroots movement to re-elect Ed Markey.”
Ben resides in Holliston and has a degree in Community Health from Tufts University.
