“We heard Ed share how his mother’s death from Alzheimer’s disease fueled his mission to help find a cure for Alzheimer’s by 2025. It’s his laws that supported the creation of this bold goal and has led to a 350 percent increase since 2014 in funding to fight this devastating disease.

“We learned more about Ed’s victories against the NRA, from the ban he secured in 1994 on assault weapons made in China, to the $25 million he helped secure for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to study gun violence prevention for the first time since 1996.

“And for everyone concerned about the existential threat of climate change, Senator Markey showed why he is the national leader of the movement for a Green New Deal and 100% clean, renewable, and zero-emissions energy.
