People across the state know that Senator Markey is leading and delivering on the most important issues and they are rallying around our progressive agenda. Our campaign’s momentum is only growing, and we are continuing to see the strength of our people-powered movement in every corner of the state,” said John Walsh, the campaign’s manager and former chairman of the Massachusetts Democratic Party.
This second successful weekend of caucuses follows the debate on Tuesday night, where Ed Markey laid out his agenda for his next term.
“When voters hear about Ed Markey’s goals for a next term, we know they then support his work on the Green New Deal, passing gun safety measures, finding a cure for Alzheimer’s by 2025, and continuing to deliver needed funding and projects to cities and towns across the state,” said Walsh.
Last week, Team Markey secured caucus wins in the following cities and towns: Boston, Malden, Lynnfield, Bridgewater, Rockland, Fitchburg, Sunderland, Provincetown, Bourne, Chatham, Belmont, Conway, Lowell, Barre, Westminster, and Yarmouth.
Senator Markey has also secured the endorsements of several major progressive groups, including the Planned Parenthood Action Fund, NARAL Pro-Choice, the NRDC Action Fund, UNITE HERE Local 26 Hotel Workers, and Peace Action.
