BOSTON – Representing more than 30,000 members throughout the Commonwealth, the United Food & Commercial Workers (UFCW) Massachusetts — Locals 328, 791, 1445, and 1459 — are enthusiastically endorsing Senator Ed Markey for re-election. The UFCW — with workers in grocery, health care, retail, food processing, warehouse, and numerous other industries – cited Markey’s fight for economic and climate justice in its endorsement, as well as his efforts on the picket line in solidarity with workers.

“No one embodies the strength and resilience of being an essential worker more than the dedicated members of UFCW,” said Markey. “From the pandemic to today, UFCW workers have supplied, fed, and served our families, and we need to do the same for theirs. I will always stand with UFCW and fight for the safety, respect, wages, and protections these workers have earned and deserve.”

Your consistent emphasis on cost of living, affordable transit options, affordable healthcare, antitrust enforcement, and numerous other issues show your dedication to being on the side of working people. Your early emphasis on climate issues and the disparate impact it has on poor communities helped ensure these concerns were considered on the national scale.
