State Representative Jen Benson Endorses Ed Markey for U.S. Senate

BOSTON – State Representative Jen Benson has endorsed Ed Markey in his bid for re-election to the United States Senate. Benson represents the 37th Middlesex House District, including Acton, Ayer, Boxborough, Harvard, Lunenburg, and Shirley, and serves as House Chair of the Joint Committee on Health Care Financing.
“I am lucky to have Representative Benson as a partner in the fight for bold climate and energy policy,” said Markey. “By working together at the local and federal level, we can usher in a green energy revolution while creating millions of jobs, mitigating carbon emissions, and protecting our communities from climate change. Representative Benson has a strong environmental record, and I’m honored to have earned her endorsement.”

Senator Markey has served in the United States Senate for the last six years and is widely regarded as the leading member of Congress on environmental issues. He has also led legislation to protect consumers and address the opioid epidemic, internet privacy concerns, and net neutrality.
The 37th Middlesex House District is composed of Acton (precincts 3,4, and 5), Ayer (precinct 2), Boxborough, Harvard, Lunenburg (precincts A, C, and D), and Shirley.
