FIRST IN PLAYBOOK — Rep. Seth Moulton is running for Senate on a call for generational change. Some members of the next generation aren’t buying it.
Members of the College Democrats of Massachusetts overwhelmingly voted to endorse Sen. Ed Markey for reelection, saying that Markey “gave us hope for a better future with the introduction of the Green New Deal, a promise and plan to ensure a green economy and environmental justice,” and “has been alongside activists at the frontlines of the fight for transgender rights in America.”
Moulton, the group said in announcing their endorsement, “fails to offer the same dedication to CDMA’s top issues.”
“While the congressman has been a champion for crucial political matters, his support for the Israeli government over the conflicts in Gaza and the West Bank, opposition to Medicare for All, vagueness regarding climate change and inadequate response to Republican demonization of transgender Americans render him incompatible with our membership’s views,” they wrote in a lengthy explanation of their endorsement. Markey also has the support of the College Democrats of America.
