BOSTON— Highlighting his commitment to the working families of Central Massachusetts, Congressman Jim McGovern (MA-02) today endorsed Ed Markey for reelection to the U.S. Senate. The Massachusetts legislators, who served together in the U.S. House of Representatives for 16 years, have secured millions in funding for housing, infrastructure, environmental protection, and education programs in Worcester and throughout Central Massachusetts and the Pioneer Valley. Markey and McGovern continue to partner on legislation to protect global human rights and reduce the threat of nuclear war, and, most recently in April, traveled together with Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley (MA-07) to Louisiana to meet with Tufts University student Rümeysa Öztürk at an ICE detention facility where she was being held illegally without charge and in terrible conditions.
