Retail, Wholesale And Department Store Union Endorses Ed Markey For Senate

Charlestown, Massachusetts – Rep. Ed Markey released the following statement today after receiving the endorsement of the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU):

“The Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union is a powerful champion on behalf of its members and a true fighter for social and economic justice, and I am honored to receive their endorsement. I am proud of my record standing up for workers rights, affordable health care and increasing the minimum wage, and I want to bring this fight for our working men and women to the Senate.”

RWDSU represents over 100,000 workers throughout the United States, with thousands in Massachusetts.

Ed has also received endorsements from SEIU representing 85,000 Massachusetts workers,AFSCME Council 93 representing 35,000 workers, the Massachusetts Teachers Association(MTA) representing 110,000 workers and the American Federation of Teachers Massachusetts representing 25,000 workers.

RWDSU Endorses Ed Markey for Massachusetts Senate 

Boston, Mass- Today, the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU), announced its endorsement of Congressman Ed Markey for the special election for U.S. Senate.

“Ed has stood with us on key issues important to an overwhelming majority of working people in Massachusetts, including worker protections, immigration, health care issues and creating jobs for the working class.  Ed Markey has been an advocate for improved health care and tax laws which close loopholes for the wealthy.  We are proud to endorse him, and look forward to working with him when he becomes Massachusetts’s next Senator,” said Stuart Appelbaum, RWDSU President.
