FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: March 3, 2013
Medford, MA – Today, U.S. Senate candidate Rep. Ed Markey (D-Malden) joined Western Massachusetts supporters and local leaders at a grassroots organizing meeting in Holyoke where he shared priorities for his grassroots campaign, plans for economic growth, and commitment to creating economic opportunity for all through affordable health care and quality education.
“A strong economy begins with access to quality education and affordable health care for all,” said Markey. “I want to partner with Elizabeth Warren in the Senate to ensure the Obama agenda moves forward to benefit middle-class families, children and workers throughout Massachusetts and the country.”
Throughout the weekend, the Markey campaign held grassroots organizing strategy sessions with more than 500 committed volunteer leaders. At the strategy sessions, leaders learned how to build a local grassroots operation that brings Ed’s passion for families and workers to the streets and door-to-door.
