Steve Grossman Endorses Ed Markey for United States Senate
Monday, October 28, 2019
BOSTON — Former Massachusetts Treasurer and CEO of the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC) Steve Grossman has endorsed U.S. Senator Ed Markey in his bid for re-election.
“Ed Markey knows that today’s economy isn’t just about startups and the new economy,” said Grossman. “He knows that in older cities and gateway communities, people are struggling. He knows that small businesses create the most jobs, and that helping those small businesses is one of the most powerful things we can do to create a better future for all Massachusetts families. I trust Ed Markey to shine a light on our underserved communities, and to do everything he can to work for inclusive economic prosperity.”
“I’m very proud to have the endorsement of former State Treasurer Steve Grossman,” said Senator Markey. “His leadership continues to have a meaningful impact on people’s lives. I share his deep commitment to working for inclusive economic prosperity, and that means making sure no communities or small businesses are overlooked. Small businesses are the engine that drives our economic growth and creates millions of jobs across America.”
Earlier this year, Senator Markey introduced legislation to strengthen and expand the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program, which provides instrumental funding to infant industry research and development where obtaining private capital is not an option.
