State Representative Maria Robinson Endorses Ed Markey for U.S. Senate
Wednesday, October 16, 2019
Boston — State Representative Maria Robinson, who represents Massachusetts’ Sixth Middlesex District, has endorsed U.S. Senator Ed Markey in his bid for re-election.
“Senator Markey has been an incredible advocate on energy and technology issues for decades,” said Representative Robinson. “My first interaction with him was during his chairship of the first-ever Select Committee for Energy Independence and Global Warming, and I was so impressed with his work that I insisted we live in his Congressional District when my husband I moved out of Boston. He continues to fight to help everyday people, including his recent crusade against the increasingly annoying robocalls. In a world where people continue to lose trust in government, I sleep better at night knowing Ed Markey is our Senator.”
“I would like to extend my thanks to Representative Maria Robinson,” said Senator Markey. “Representative Robinson has been unwavering in her dedication to improving Massachusetts not only for today, but also for tomorrow. Recognizing the critical need for local activism to spur change on a national level, Representative Robinson has been at the forefront of grassroots organization on issues including climate change.”
Senator Markey has served in the United States Senate for the last six years, and is widely regarded as leading member of Congress on environmental issues. He has also led legislation in addressing the opioid epidemic, internet privacy concerns and the humanitarian crisis occurring at the southern border.
