State Representative Linda Dean Campbell Endorses Ed Markey for United States Senate
Monday, October 7, 2019
Boston — State Representative Linda Dean Campbell, who represents Massachusetts’ Fifteenth Essex District, has endorsed Ed Markey in his bid for re-election to the United States Senate.
“Senator Markey is THE leader among elected officials in our country on environmental issues,” Campbell said. “We need his leadership now, more than ever, to combat climate change. On a local level, it has been a privilege to work with him on the need for more federal investment in infrastructure to eliminate combined sewer overflows into the Merrimack River, and also to ensure we have needed federal assets here in the Merrimack Valley to combat drug trafficking.”
Campbell serves as the Chairperson of the Joint Committee on Veterans and Federal Affairs. Throughout her time in the State House, she has focused on reintegrating Massachusetts veterans back into society after service, eliminating substance abuse, and improving public safety.
“As a veteran of both the U.S. Army Airborne and Beacon Hill, Representative Campbell is a tireless advocate for our Commonwealth’s veterans,” Markey said. “She is a strong voice and leader within the State House and I am very grateful to have her support for my re-election.”
Senator Markey has served in the United States Senate for the last 6 years and is widely regarded as leading member of Congress on environmental issues. He has also led legislation in addressing the opioid epidemic, internet privacy concerns, and the humanitarian crisis occurring at the Southern border.
