Monday, June 22, 2020
BOSTON – Nicolas Suarez has joined Ed Markey’s campaign for re-election to the United States Senate as a Field Organizer. Prior to joining the Markey Campaign, Nicolas worked on the boards of the Tobacco Free Partnership of St. Lucie County and Florida Youth Advocacy. He also interned at the Office of U.S. Senator Markey, the Honduras Permanent Mission to the United Nations in Geneva, and as a Support Assistant to MP Catherine West in London.
Nicolas is the Field Organizer for Cambridge, Somerville, Medford, Melrose, and Malden.
“Nicolas is going to be an important leader for us as we move closer to election day,” said Campaign Manager John Walsh. “His passion for progressive causes and experience in grassroots organizing make him the perfect addition to our Field Organizing team. His native fluency in Spanish will also allow him to amplify Ed Markey’s progressive values with Spanish-speaking voters. We are honored to have him join us.”
“Senator Markey has long been a champion on the issues that matter most to me, like ensuring a livable planet for my generation. Ed has proven time and time again that he is the advocate Massachusetts needs in D.C.,” said Suarez. “I am looking forward to organizing for Ed Markey to make sure we send a progressive leader back to the Senate.”
Nicolas is from Port St. Lucie, Florida, and is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Relations at Boston University.
