NEWTON – The Jewish Democratic Council of America (JDCA) today announced its endorsement of Ed Markey for re-election to the United States Senate.

The organization is the latest to endorse Ed Markey in his bid for re-election; others include Progressive Democrats of America, the Planned Parenthood Action Fund, NARAL Pro-Choice, the NRDC Action Fund, UNITE HERE Local 26, and Peace Action.

“It is an honor to have the support of the Jewish Democratic Council of America,” said Senator Markey. “The JDCA is doing critical work to promote our democratic values, fight back against anti-semitism in our country, and defeat Donald Trump in 2020. I look forward to the progress that we will continue to make together in our shared goal of creating a more just and equitable world for every person.”

Boasting more than 20,000 members nationwide, the JDCA advocates for policy consistent with socially progressive, pro-Israel, Jewish community values.

The JDCA works to activate the Jewish electorate to engage in the electoral and legislative processes and advocate for domestic and foreign policy positions aligned with its platform.

Senator Markey has served in the United States Senate since winning the special election in 2013 and has amassed a deep record on environmental, climate, gun safety, and consumer protection issues. His leadership has led to legislation to address the humanitarian crisis on the southern border, protect LGBTQ+ rights, and ensure that Donald Trump cannot launch a nuclear first strike without Congressional approval. Raised in Malden, Ed Markey has always stood up for the priorities of Massachusetts.
