Press Release
Ed Markey Releases Tax Returns, Challenges Congressman Kennedy To Do the Same
Friday, July 17, 2020
BOSTON – Senator Ed Markey released his tax returns on Friday, dating back to the year he was elected to the Senate in 2013.
“I am releasing my full tax returns for the years I have been in the U.S. Senate because it is important for the voters of Massachusetts to have the information they need. I challenge my opponent Congressman Kennedy to join me in releasing his full tax returns for his time in Congress so that voters can compare and inform their decisions.
“Candidates shouldn’t wait to make the highest court of the land or the court of opinion force this sharing of information. We should require tax releases from all candidates for Congress by law.”
Every year he’s been in public service, Senator Markey has been required to disclose his income and assets annually, but now he is going a step further and releasing his tax returns.
