On February 24th, Ed was joined by Director of the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy, Gil Kerlikowaske, former NBA player Chris Herren, Taunton Police Chief Edward Walsh and other state and local officials at a press conference at the Central Fire House in Taunton to address ways to curb the increasing heroin-usage epidemic in the state.

Ed has proposed expanding access to Narcan – a drug which is used to reverse opiate overdoses. By putting this medication in the hands of first responders and families of addicts, Ed hopes to alleviate the number of overdose related incidents and deaths in the region.
