BOSTON, Mass. – Today, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14) endorsed Senator Ed Markey for re-election to the U.S. Senate, backing her progressive legislative partner as a proven champion for working families.

“At a time when powerful special interests are making life harder for everyday Americans, Massachusetts working families need a champion in the U.S. Senate to stand up for them and fight corporate greed,” said Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. “Ed Markey has spent his career doing exactly that, from our partnership on the Green New Deal to running his campaign without accepting a dime of corporate PAC money.  His work is an inspiration to many of us who are committed to building a better future for all, and that’s why I’m proud to endorse him.”

Senator Markey thanked Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for her endorsement.

Markey and Ocasio-Cortez first introduced the Green New Deal in 2019, laying out a national mobilization to confront the climate crisis while creating millions of good-paying jobs, strengthening economic security, and advancing environmental justice.
